Great Blue Herons are common on the Monocacy, but getting good photos of them can be challenging. Herons are very wary birds and tend to flush far ahead of your arrival. In addition to their wariness, herons blend in with their environment exceedingly well. The photos below were taken on September 9th by my wife, Pam Tucker.
